Confidence + Kindness

Confidence Plus Kindness

a powerfully good duo

The Story

In aiming to raise four good humans, while aiming to be a good human myself, so often two key attributes in life rise to the top of importance: Confidence + Kindness.

And with these two together, the rest just seems to work itself out. Said another way, Love Yourself + Love Others. With an unbalanced focus on only one and not the other, things never go quite as well.

Confidence is having a feeling of little doubt about yourself and your abilities. It is the voice in your head full of trust and belief and understanding of you. It is simply demonstrating acceptance and support of yourself, and in what makes you, you.

Kindness is a quality of being friendly, generous and considerate. It is showing empathy and understanding. It is simply demonstrating acceptance and support of others and in what makes them, them.

Confidence + Kindness is a powerfully good duo. They each support and balance out one another when focused and practiced in unison. They work together to achieve real, everyday greatness, gratitude, and happiness.

So let's do this.

Let's do this every day.

Let's create a Confidence + Kindness movement that never stops.

The Original

My grandmother, Bobby Dean Hodges, depicted in this 1997 photo with me, embodied the powerfully good duo of confidence plus kindness every day of her life. Her influence lives on today.

Meet Your Coach: Amy Spears

Amy Spears is a happy, healthy, and thriving 51-year-old woman with 30 years of marriage (and counting), four wonderful children, a fulfilling 30-year career, and a lifetime of rich experiences filled with learning and growth.

She'll be the first to tell you she doesn't have life completely figured out, and never expects to. That is exactly the point: it is in the messy, imperfect middle of life that she has found her deepest lessons about confidence and kindness.

Amy's journey, imperfections and all, has given her profound insights worth sharing. Her sole intention is to help people love themselves and others, a powerfully good duo, and in doing so make the world a kinder, more compassionate, and connected place.
